On 1/04/20 these countries were relatively unaffected by Covid-19. Different measures seem to be in place. Latvia (sort of lockdown), Estonia (some emergency measures), Lithuania (nationwide quarantine) and Belarus (almost no measures). We follow up these (reliable?) figures. The figures remain amazingly low. Compared to other countries in Europe, very few people seem to die fromContinue reading “Belarus, Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania (29/04/20)”
Mid march Belgium and Sweden seemed in a similar Codvid-19 position. Belgium went in lockdown. Sweden took softer measures. Some experts* warned that Sweden took too few actions. We follow the situation calmly. We know that those figures are not always comparable (probably not all countries give reliable figures). We added Denmark & Norway asContinue reading “Evolution number of deaths Belgium versus Sweden 28/04/20”
The weird shape of the Belgian test curve.
Take into account that people don’t necessary go to the hospital in the province they live in.
The Belgian hospital figures seem to indicate a positive evolution.
Per million habitants Brussels seems to have the highest number of Covid-19 related deaths per region in Belgium. It is not sure that we can compare these figures. Will an inhabitant of Flanders who dies in a Brussels hospital appear in the figures of Brussels or in the figures of Flanders? We don’t know (yet).
Every monday we will give an update. We took a combination of the 15 biggest departments and the 10 departments with the most cumulated deaths. source: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_des_d%C3%A9partements_fran%C3%A7ais_class%C3%A9s_par_population_et_superficie & https://geodes.santepubliquefrance.fr/index.php#c=indicator&f=0&i=covid_hospit.dc&s=2020-04-05&t=a01&view=map2
The US testing machine is ramping up, on some days more than 300K tests per day.
Who is testing the most? Who is testing the most per 1M pop? Who has the least %Pos per test? Who has the highest %Pos per test? We only included the countries with a relevant number of tests. It is rather amazing that India is not part of top 10. China is missing in thisContinue reading “Top 10 Testers (24/04/20)”
Why is there such a difference between Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain?Spain and Italy seem the follow a very similar highly impacted path. Portugal and certainly Greece stay on a very low level. The big difference between the two neighbours Spain & Portugal is very weird.
